More Than 167,000 Pounds of Meat Recalled Nationwide Over False Inspection Labels

Star Meat Delivery Inc., a North Carolina-based company, is recalling approximately 167,639 pounds of raw pork, beef, and goat products that were produced without federal inspection and bear a false USDA mark of inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Tuesday.

The recalled products carry the establishment number “EST. 1363,” which does not have a federal grant of inspection. FSIS said any product bearing that number should be considered misbranded and unsafe to eat.

The recall has been classified as Class I, the highest health risk category. FSIS defines a Class I recall as a situation where there is a reasonable probability that use of the product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.

According to FSIS, the meat may contain undeclared allergens, harmful bacteria, or other contaminants that pose a risk to consumer health and safety. As of the recall announcement, there have been no confirmed reports of illness or injury.

The agency said the problem was discovered during routine FSIS monitoring activities.

Products and Distribution

The recall covers 23 products distributed under the A&D Foods brand label. The full list includes:

  • Goat cut and skinless goat cut

  • Sliced ribeye and thin-sliced beef shoulder for Korean barbecue

  • Beef oxtail cut, beef short ribs, and bone-in beef shank

  • Ground pork, pork chorizo, and bone-in pork chops

  • Pork feet in six-piece and eight-piece packs, and pork ribs

  • Diced pork shoulder, sliced pork shoulder, and sliced pork hock

  • Menudo mix, beef rib, and beef feet cut

The products were produced on several dates before September 22, 2026, vacuum-sealed, and packed into cardboard boxes. They were shipped to A&D Foods, a distributor in Duluth, Georgia, and then sent to retailers and restaurants nationwide.

FSIS cautioned that consumers may not see the original A&D Foods label, because retail stores may have applied their own stickers with pricing and handling instructions over the packaging.

Guidance for Consumers and Retailers

FSIS urged consumers not to eat the recalled products. The agency advised that the products be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. Retailers and restaurants should not sell or serve them and should remove them from shelves and kitchens.

FSIS said it will conduct recall effectiveness checks to verify that the recalling firm has notified customers and that the products are no longer available to consumers. A retail distribution list will be posted on the FSIS website when available.
