Fox said the final episode under the “Mornings with Maria” title aired September 3, although Reuters reported that Bartiromo herself had last appeared on the network on August 9.

The network is replacing “Mornings with Maria” with “Mornings with FOX Business,” scheduled to begin September 4 with rotating anchors. “Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street” is becoming “FBN’s Wall Street,” with Cheryl Casone hosting the first edition.

Former Republican congressman and Fox contributor Jason Chaffetz is set to host “Sunday Morning Futures” on September 6 while Fox searches for a permanent replacement.

A Reported Explanation Remains Unconfirmed

In an updated report late September 3, CNN said Fox leadership had decided in August to remove Bartiromo.

Citing a person familiar with the matter, CNN reported that the immediate trigger involved Bartiromo allegedly sharing confidential network guidance with officials in President Donald Trump’s White House after Fox executives directed staff not to pursue conspiracy claims involving China and the 2020 election. The CNN report did not identify the source publicly.

That account has not been independently confirmed by Fox or Bartiromo. A Fox spokesperson told TheWrap only that the departure was a “business decision” and said the company’s release spoke for itself. Bartiromo had not publicly responded to CNN’s reporting on the circumstances of her exit as of early September 4.

Trump reacted publicly Thursday night, praising Bartiromo on Truth Social and expressing surprise that her Fox programs were ending. His public response highlighted Bartiromo’s close relationship with the president, who has frequently granted her interviews and publicly praised her work.

Election Litigation Remains Part of the Background

Bartiromo joined Fox Business in 2014 after roughly two decades at CNBC, where she became a nationally recognized financial journalist and pioneered daily live reporting from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Her work at Fox increasingly extended into national politics and interviews with Trump and his allies, according to Associated Press reporting.
