This week marks the final week of applications for the third cohort of LGBT University, Freedom for All Americans Education Fund’s program that develops and trains the next wave of LGBT movement leaders.

The program is an opportunity for deeply committed individuals to gain the knowledge and experience needed to lead a non-discrimination campaign. Throughout three in-person training sessions and monthly virtual sessions, apprentices explore every aspect of a non-discrimination campaign, including lobbying, messaging, fundraising, field engagement, and the importance of building an inclusive team.

Today we released a new video that gives an inside look at the LGBT University Apprenticeship program – take a look below, and then click here to apply!

Developing the next wave of LGBT movement leaders is so critical to our ability to advance LGBT non-discrimination protections that Freedom for All Americans Education Fund is proud to provide full scholarships for all accepted apprentices. All travel expenses, lodging, and meals during the three in-person sessions are covered.

The apprenticeship is intense – but we know that in order to surge forward and win LGBT-inclusive non-discrimination protections nationwide, we need talented, hard-working people to be experts in the ins and outs of running successful campaigns.

It’s a competitive application process – but the apprenticeship is open to anyone committed to the work. Our current apprentices range from people currently working in the LGBT movement to passionate movement newcomers excited to apply what they’ve learned in other fields to this important national fight. Through LGBT-U we are identifying, supporting, and engaging more transgender people, people of color, and Americans of all political ideologies. We are accepting applications for the third cohort until Friday, July 22. Apply today and spread the word!
